sorry this isn't 2008 material but I would suggest M.O.P.'s 2000 Warrioz album. they're Brooklyn natives who have been around since Biggie came out but you won't find much of their stuff on the radio. they were signed to Rocafella for awhile and more recently, they signed to G-Unit, but don't hold that against them check these clips out and tell me what you think
