Default Trey's Album of The Week: CWTF's Beyond The Last Light

The album I have (finally) decided on is Beyond The Last Light, by Comes With The Fall.

This is a band that is sadly off most peoples radar even though the lead singer, William DuVall was tapped for a vocalist position by Jerry Cantrell in Alice In Chains.

Hope you can come listen with me.

If there were no rewards to reap,
No loving embrace to see me through this tedious path I've chosen here,
I certainly would've walked away by now.

I'll be at the listening session. I've never listened to this band before but I'm looking forward to it. William DuVall is a name I'm familiar with, haha...

Damn it, I might miss the only one I was just about able to go to. Depends how long taking all these pictures for a stop-motion film is going to take and whether someone needs to use a computer after.

I've listened to the album already though and I like. I'll edit this post later with some review when I get to it.

^I'm glad you listened and liked.

You're up next! Create a new thread for your album choice on Monday, and include the date and time (if you want to have a listening session...it's not required).

    No thread discussion???

Alright, I listened to the album again. I was very impressed with DuVall's vocals and the bands ability to incorporate many different sounds into their songs. Still Got a Hold on My Heart is my favorite song off of the album. His voice gets so edgy and it's very intense. Overall, I was very pleased with all of the great guitar riffs, Duvall's vocal abilities and the melodies... Also, Nico Constantine added in some great guitar solos, too bad he's not in the band anymore...

Thanks for bumping for discussion FT. I'm happy you liked...not surprised through. This is definitely an album I thought you'd get into. I agree with all your observations on the album, but I'm pretty sure Nico didn't play on this album. He was only with the band from 99-01. Beyond The Last Light is from 2007. There's not a lot of info on CWTF, and I don't own the actual CD so I don't have liner notes to read. However, I mentioned that DuVall is also a solid guitarist. I assume it's his playing on this album.

Wow, I thought it was more of a rhythm guitar type of thing, that's very impressive...
    Stop being so damn introspective...
