I have always listened to classical compositions. I also like rock so I'm not bizarre.
Loads of males (I know) listening to classical music and no we are not ‘nerds’ or ‘geeks’. It seems that most females brand some guys with an open-mind to culture as freaks.
Listen to this women.

Slayer is about right.
Female hetero***uality is more prone to celebrity crushes.
Guys may drool over Britney Spears, but that's nothing compared with girls drooling over Elvis or drooling over the Beatles.
In classical music, on the other hand, it's the composer who gets top billing, and usually, the composer is already dead.

Take away the press coverage and the bright lights and the gem-studded costumes and that leaves nothing but--well, music!

Because the chicks need a cute guy to look at

Many women are extremely shallow when it comes to music.

Well, I'm a chick and I'm a classical freak and so are most of my friends. I think it's cause us girls are so emotional we want words to relate with and things to obssess over because it makes us feel better, I know how that is. But I'm a violist and I'm in a symphony and I can say that the only people I know who love classical are the ones who can play it.

I love classical voiceinsidemyhead, and I can't play a note. Heck I won't even attempt to sing in a karaoke bar after a few pops, the resulting noise would empty the place.

Just most people I know, Lord G. I'm sure tons of people love it for it being what it is. I think it's easier to gain appreciation for it though if you work with it daily in practice on an instrument or voice, ya know?

I understand voice...I fell in love with classical years ago, and then again when CD's came out. I have nothing but respect and admiration for all of the classical musicians playing in an orchestra, it amazes me the beauty and energy that a well tuned symphony orchestra can produce. I just love it.
