Simple enough question. Which composer of classical music do you think people underrate?(Any period is cool, from Baroque to Modern.)
I'll give a shout out for Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, I really like his music. Back in his own time many other "Serious" critics always complained that he didn't do enough "Epic" compositions, instead he did smaller works that incorporated a lot of folk themes from the different cultures that make up Russia. His suites are just plain fun to listen to, and that is a good thing as far as I'm concerned, and they help to preserve a part of Russian folklore that might disappear from memory if not for people like him.
