I always considered the Allman Brothers as southern blues rock, not country.

Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Conway Twitty, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Charlie Pride, Faron Young, Flatts & Scruggs, Roger Miller, those are a few of the old greats from way back when.

Conway Twitty is an amazing country singer also try listening to some Hank Williams i like both of them hope this helps
