| Arcturus | | I would personally call Arcturus avant garde black metal. I first heard them very recently and think they're absolutely amazing!!! I don't really have much to say, only started scratching the surface, have heard only about 7 songs up to now or so... the vocals especially take my breath away!! LG you might like them since they almost always use clean vocals... they have amazing lyrics IMO, the rhythms are perfect for my taste and the guitar is impecable and powerfully vibe exuding!! Very obscure A couple live videos on youtube (are p.e.r.f.e.c.t. live, by the way) have some very theatrical performances from people other than the band..proper choreography, but insanity!! Adds to the concept. A few of my favorite songs which I've heard up to now are Hibernation Sickness Complete, Shipwrecked Frontier Pioneer and Ad Absurdum...as i said i've only heard about seven songs so far and absolutely loved every single one, but these three especially hit me. Your thoughts guys?

| Arcturus,,,I like the name Alex, and you know me pretty well now so if they are clean vocals I'll put them on my shopping list for sure. Thanks. |

| They're really different LG, they really push the boundries of where Metal can go. They also seem to have (from what I can tell) MOSTLY growling vocals, but I found a couple of songs with smooth and distinctable singing as well! |

| Well if it's mostly growling then I probably won't like them, but I will listen to a couple of songs because I do respect Alex's opinion, she is very knowledgeable about this genre.
Thanks for the info Symph. |

| Let me know what you think of 'em LG
I have Aspera Hiems Symfonia-Constellation-My Angel
and La Masquerade Infernale
They do mix clean and growling vocals... But the clean vocals are mainly epic-wise... And the growling isn't weird or anything... You can (most of the times) understand their singing...
Start with aspera If you haven't already started!

| Really, Symph? Cause from what i heard one of the most distinctive parts of their music are the vocals themselves, ive heard them throw in a few growling parts but mostly clean vocals from what i know. i guess it may depend on the song/album, but from what ive heard from people that have heard almost everything of their's, they use mostly clean vocals. they do push the boundaries though, don't they? i love 'em..
Oblivion, i love la masqerade infernale but don't think i've heard aspera hiems [...] yet. will do!

| Really like Radical Cut off of Sham Mirrors along with some songs off of their first album.
I've been trying to remind myself to look into them a bit more, but keep forgetting lol.
