Tobacco and alcohol are the two most commonly used legal drugs in the world by far and they can lead to more misery and suffering than all the illegal drugs combined. However that doesn't mean to say illegal drugs are OK especially drugs like heroin and cocaine which can cause serious health problems too. Educating kids approaching their teens and for teenagers is one of the key ways to minimize the risks when they at some point they will be in a situation where drugs are present. There is also the fact that young people born into poor housing conditions and deprivation are vulnerable and I think that in Britain it is nothing short of a national scandal that there are still literally millions of people, many of them children, who are living with multiple deprivation and poverty.

I can't believe you didn't class alcohol as a drug...out of all drugs professionals rate alcohol and benzodiazepams as worst due to DT and death from detox. In most cases professionals would pick alcohol, and for good reason. I've. Worked with alcoholiccs in recovery who had drank themselves crippled. To be perfectly honest this is an awful thread, ALL drugs destroy lives and I suggest you read up on both more.in the end both are detrimental.

I will probably regret asking this.....But why is this debate needed on a Music forum?
We have a drug thread and an alt drug thread for recovery. Even if this wasn't. A music forum this is not a debate, and not to be mean but one many will mess up answering. You're asking advice and debate from those who have not studied drugs or psychology. I have, and I find the idea of this thread terrible and soon full of misinformation....
There is no debate. Alcohol and drugs, both the same, have grave or mortal impacts on the user and those close to the user. They are all bad. This needs vaulted...
This thread isn't even necessary. I believe we have an alcohol thread and a drug thread.
