Solo - Dave Weckl
Dave Weckl back in '09 intro-ing the new Yamaha PHX series drum line:

I used to try and keep up with his style back in high school, he was good then and even better now. His snares are incredible, left (of the hats) is a 13 x 5" custom and the other (main) is a 14 x 5" but both his snares have twin strainers with individual throw off's. I'm surprised that he still plays with the die-cast hoops and not the Yamaha vintage (wood) hoops.

Weckl is a total groove monster! I think his work with Chick Corea's Electric Band was a benchmark for fusion drumming.

Here's a couple cuts from a Weckl album I've got called "Heads Up". It was produced by Dave Grusin and features an all-star group including John Patitucci on bass and Randy Brecker on sax.
