    Default Bright vs. Dark

    Which types of cymbals are better for what genres in your opinion?
    I'm a complete drum newb so I have no idea. I play progressive stuff so I just want to know what kind of cymbals I should buy in general.

    Neither, you'll hear it a thousand times but just play what sounds good to you... in the end it doesn't really matter, it's just something for drummers to talk about when we aren't hitting things.
