One of MANY founders but personally I think he receives too much credit for being a founder. Didin't really see why people went so crazy over him besides his somewhat good looks. In his good looking days, he reminded me of a ken doll.

Sabbath generally isn't regarded as an super talented band, though I think they are quite talented personally. They're more known for laying the groundwork for heavy music, they pretty much started the genre.

I am just clueless as to how you think MTV made them overrated, they were a huge band years before MTV even existed! Did some flavor of the month rapper sample a riff from them recently or something?

Anyway, I stated it before.. Overrated bands do not excist. If people like them, they are doing something good. For example, I don't like tokio hotel, though they are highly rated... Can't say they are overrated, since a large part of the world population would say I was wrong. Hence, overrated bands only excist from within one persons view, and this one person cannot label a band to be overrated. Conclusion: overrated bands do not excist because of the fact that they are rated so highly by so many people.

And stating that Elvis is overrated is even more ridiculous (sorry magic ). He died in '77. Let's not claim to know how the music industry of that time worked. If you're 45 years of age, you where maybe just old enough to register him dying... Nothing more. It's easy to say he was overrated, 50 years after the event. Hannibal was stupid to cross the snowy mountains with his army, hence he was overrated as an emperor ?

It's only possible to claim a band to be overrated if they fail to live up to the expectations. For example, Metallica's album could be overrated..

People can like a band and they can still be overrated. Just because they are doing something right doesn't change whether they have talent or not. Overrated is Like lil Wayne saying he is the best rap artist alive when there are obviously people who are better than him. Just because a band sells a lot of record's. Dose not make them good. Though it does mean they are doing something right.
Lets say band a spends a whole year making the best quality album they can using all there talent.Great natural voice, complex and rhythmic guitars. good drumming, amazing solos ect.... Then band b make there album in 3 weeks using voice modifications because they cant's sing and synthesizer to make there music sound better. There hit song has a 4 cord rhythm.
Band b sells a lot lot more than band a. And every one who like band b says they are one of the greatest artists of all time(cough lil wayne, soulja boy cough). Then I come along and say that band is overrated.
Sorry to all who like lil wayne. I have a very strong dislike for him.
I'm not a killer but if I ever seam him I'm going to run over him.
Same with Soulja boy. I just hate people who have very little music talent claim they are the best and make millions of dollars when there are people who spend months making there music and barley get anything.

Heres the thing about overrated bands, people say they suck because they're so overrated.
