Overrated is stupid. What bands have talent or not is to a degree an opinion. Obviously a band like jonas brother is no where in the same relm as a band like tool.
The top ten bands of all time lists are stupid.

Listen to what you you like. It's not like it matter's weather one band pushes more notes to entertain than another.

Red Hot Chili Peppers have lots of talent.
Metallica has lots of talent.


Just because they create a sound a lot of people like dosen't mean they are overrated. Obviously saying they are the best band in the world is going to far.

Nirvana dosen't have much music ability. But they have a lot of fans and more people like there music then say a band like dream theater. Is not that talent within it's self.

It's not that it offends me. It's when people say a band is overrated and have no proof. You have to prove they are overrated.
Probably the only good way to do this would be to take a musical appreciation class or whatever it is called.

Actually it is stupid. If a band is supposed to be really good and a person dosen't like the band they will say they are overrated.


Why these argument's are stupid In my opinion.

1. Not everyone will agree on the same list.
2. Does it matter if a band has talent or not.
After all music is a matter of taste.
3. Do bands even need to be ranked.


I'm sorry if i sound pissed off. I just get tired of people telling you this band sucks and you should listen to something else. They have no talent. They are overrated. They are the best band of all time you are supposed to like them.

It's not about 'proving' a band is overrated, it's about sharing your views with fellow music lovers in a friendly way.

Exactly, and even though you and I have disagreed more than once MMM, I still enjoy exchanging comments with you, that is what makes this fun for me anyway.

I'm not pissed off Drake, you presented a good argument for your personal point of view, I just disagree with your premise that's all. And all of this stuff is personal opinion, even if I think the Jonas Brothers suck and are highly overhyped, that isn't going to change what their fans think, but it does make me feel a little better to vent my feelings about the subject.

Discrediting a bands talent because they are overrated it stupid.
Like I understand that metallica is overrated. Becuase people think they are the best band in the world. But that dosen't mean they don't have talent or that i don't like them. Becuase I do.

I just hate the people who correlate overrated with no talent.

Wouldn't we have to define what talent is before we can say a band is overrated.
If we all view talent differently we will disagree a lot.

Talent isn't always music ability but impact and innovation.
Bands like the Beatles were not groundbreaking but they paved the way for a lot of bands and were innovative in there lyrics. Songs like Imagine.
