Default What artists would you have collaborate?

I don't know if there's already a thread about this, but I couldn't find one, soo..

Anyway, what artists/bands do you think would be just fantastic/interesting if they collaborated on a song or album?

You can get really technical if you want and say "this drummer from this band, with that singer, and that violinist", "that writer with this singer" etc, or simply "this artist with this band".

    Hopefully this will be interesting.

I would love to see Mikael Åkerfeldt from Opeth do an album with the band Tool, I think they could write a really freaking cool album together.

Also, I think it would be sick if Alexi Laiho and Janne Wirman from Children of Bodom got together with Amon Amarth and created a viking melodic death metal album
Congratulations to Black Sabbath! The winner of the 2011 MF Metal Battle of the Bands!

Congratulations to Opeth! The winner of the 2011 MF Post-1990 Metal Battle of the Bands!

Pete Doherty, Carl Barat, John Hassall and Gary Powell.

I know its not exactly what you meant, but I wish they would, just doesn't make sense that they dont.

ps I know it'll never happen.

I would love to see J.J. Cale and Leon Russell do another album together....It`s been over 30 years since their last collaboration, 1979`s " In Session at the Paradise Studios".

This is an excellent topic. Frankly, I'm surprised is hasn't had more hits up to this point.

It's funny. In the old days, jazz musicians would frequently collaborate together on records, creating outstanding new sounds. Today, these collaborations are limited mostly to the hip-hop genre. Rappers are constantly featuring appearances from other rappers, but where are the collaborations between rock artists? They are comparatively few and far between. I enjoyed the concept of rock-rap collaborations as showcased in the Judgement Night soundtrack. Frankly, this is what I'd like to see:

Run-DMC & Aerosmith AGAIN. They did 'Walk This Way' so well, it would probably be a profitable venture if they tried 'Sweet Emotion'.
