Thread: Battle of the Boy Bands

  1. #1

Default Battle of the Boy Bands

So the only one right on this list: 5 Best Boy Bands Of All Time - Randy Jackson Next is The Jackson 5.

As far as Boy Bands go I think Randy Jackson may have lost it...where's Menudo? Where's Boys II Men and yeah yeah I know there are a lot of better bands out there like the Rolling Stones and such, but I think we all had our time where we were singing I Want It That Way, but the whole point here is that list is wack and with that said I wanted to see who would you list as your top boy bands?

Also can you count ones like The Monkees or The Beetles as boy bands? I mean they were Boy Bands, but they have way more respect in the music community than say NSync....meh I don't know why i get caught up in these arguments, but it's music history and it does fascinate me.

Is there such a thing as a good boy band?

It`s Beatles like a rhythm beat not like the bug...

The Beatles started off as a Pop/Rock band and moved onto a Rock band, but never a boy band, they paid their dues in places where most fear to tread, and I don`t mean the mall!

The Monkees were pretty much a fake band, so call them what you will, I know I do!

    The Monkees. No contest.
Today's Song NIN: Something I Can Never Have

A piece of dung by any other name would smell just as bad.

I've always felt a little sorry for them. Bless 'em, they could play their instruments, and two of them were keen songwriters. poor guys got locked into a bad record deal and were even made to mime. it must've been hell for them.

    Default Monkees

The only reason I know the Monkees actually is because they had the song I'm a Believer and I think the first time I saw it was in a movie about them. Funny how the recording industry works they take the best talent then twist it into a money making machine, which in turn makes you wonder about today's artists...seriously do any of them sing without auto tune anymore...well besides Adele pretty sure that's her singing, which in case she probably deserves all the hype.

There is a time that boy bands really took center stage on the music industry around the 90's, with all that songs and tracks that they had and the fashion statement that made the girls gone mad in that time.. but the worst things is that I don't like their Hairstyles way back then. Check this link if you can still remember this guys CLICK ME
Gives me a Good laugh no offense to Boy Lovers there Peace!! just an opinion. hehe

i don't think you can call boyz II men a "boy band"

they were more of an R+B/soul type group, whose music was a thousand times better than that bubble gum pop **** that nsync and the backstreet boys made infamous

    Default makes sense

Makes sense I loved Boys II Men, but I guess the definition for Boy Bands is a group of guys who sing pop music? Or maybe everyone just determines it there own way? Anyway at least we can all agree that NSync and Backstreet were all Boy Bands and let's never speak of the other horrible early millenium Boy Bands that existed aka LFO (Really?) and O-Town - ick hard to believe anyone could do it worse, but they did.
