A fun way to come up w/ a unique band name is to pick a few unusual words from the dictionary that have a cool meaning and randomly draw a few to come up with something like "Red Jumpsuit Apparatus". Actually, they came up with their name by sticking words to a wall and playing a sort of "pin the tail on the donkey" game. haha Hey, it worked!! ~Indie G

Well I'm in a punk band, so any suggestions from me are just gonna be crude and not really fitting your genre...

However, a really fun game to play, and a great inventive way to find a band name, is to get hold of a dictionary... flick open a random page and plce your finger on a word, then do the same again. Fit the two words together, see how it sounds- if you dislike one word, choose another random one- or just pick one word, and choose a word of your own to go with it.
We came up with "persistant obscenity" for a band name, we changed it though cos nobody could remember it too well...

but believe me, you'll feel so much better and value the name of the band more, if you come up with it yourself. rather than knowing its not an "original" name and that some stranger came up with it for you... it'll give you a sense of satisfaction
