    Default Gruntruck

Gruntruck was a grunge band formed in 1989 in Seattle, Washington by Ben McMillan and Scott McCullum, both previously from Skin Yard. They only released two albums and toured with Alice in Chains in Fall 1992; as well as with Pantera in Europe, 1993, who were supporting Vulgar Display of Power. According to Sean Kinney, they were Alice in Chains' most supported band at the time, opening alongside the Screaming Trees for Alice's Dirt tour.

The classic line-up reformed in the late 90's for various shows and recordings that never properly surfaced. In 2000 the band had a very successful comeback stint in the Northwest playing many shows to audiences eager for Gruntruck, however, the band disbanded permanently in 2002 leaving behind rumors of a possible album of unreleased rarities that may or may not surface in the very near future. Ben McMillan died from diabetes on January 26, 2008.

I'm not a big fan but I wanted to get them discovered.
Not very many people know about them.

I absoutely LOVE Gruntruck. One of the best grunge bands ever - along with Green River and other classic stuff. Their style was unique - they were heavy, melodic, distorted, raspy, and everything around this world, yet pretty ear friendly at the same time.
A must-hear for every grunge fan

Okay so you're not only familiar with Gruntruck but you absolutely LOVE them too. How much cooler can you get? It saddens me greatly to talk to genuine grunge fans and ask them what they think of Gruntruck. The usual response - "Huh?" or "Oh..hmm..uhh who are they again?". You gave me hope to say the least Broken

Hahahaha, I usually get the same response! . All those guys with Nirvana or Alice In Chains t-shirts who know everything about grunge and are going to see a gig of Pearl Jam and curse Cornell 'cause he's sold out... know no basic stuff about the music they're listening too I doubt they'd know L7, Babes in Toyland, Love Battery and stuff, but damn - Gruntruck's a religion.

I actually like Push better to Inside Yours, and you? It has more guitar drive that's leading the album onwards, but maybe it's just my impression.
