Default Guitar - refinished in 45 mins...

Ok...so on the way home from picking up The Munchkin from school...a former student dropped by with his old "cheapy" guitar (NOVA)...and asks me if I want it for $20...so I took it, knowing the parts are worth more than $20.

Then I noticed it's slightly smaller than a standard Strat size...(not much...just smaller body), so I decided to fix it up for Munchkin.

Still need some parts and some work...but using the vinyl I make signs with, and gold Mylar for the pickguard, here's how it turned out so far.

    She chose the colors...

Still to come...Headstock Name, I have a Fender single coil, and a Seymour Duncan Humbucker, saddle replaced in bridge...modded electronics...kill switch...and more.

But all this so far, only took me less than 45 mins:

    Nice
Great idea using the vinyl. Quick color change when she gets bored with the color or maybe some graphics.
What kind of plotter do you have MZ

    I have the Roland Camm - 1 (24" version)...and I love it!

Although no plotter used yet for this guitar...just a good old fashioned X-acto knife

Yes...great point...this guitar can change color anytime she wants...in about an hour.

    Thats Awsome MZ
Good stuff and it allows you to work from home.
I did exactly the same thing As a single parent when my son was young.

Before that , Had a sign Company for 18 yrs until we dissolved it. Ad-West Signs and Awnings. I really miss it. Back in those days we did it the old fashioned way. Grip mask and paint and a lot of hand cutting

Sweet...so we did pretty much the same thing (making signage)...I started a sign company in the early 90's...we ended up selling it, and did very well...then I became the new owners' competition, and put them out of business - hahahaha....(they forgot to make me sign a non-competition contract ...ooops)

Back them we had a huge Ioline....it was hell to run, but did the job...this new one is a pleasure.

And business is going great...still lots of work coming in.

I loved the challenge of figuring out how to build the stuff my brother designed back then. Especially the wierd shaped pylon signs he kept coming out with.

A few more jobs and she'll be making signs herself and I'll be the assistant
