The important thing is to keep it at the same level of humidity, or as close as possible to it. The less variations of temperature and humidity, the better.
Going from one climate to another will present some difficulties, but it shouldn't be insurmountable. You will probably need to get a setup/intonation after a few days in the new climate.
If the climate the guitar is in is too dry, the wood will shrink - that's bad. If the climate you're in is very dry, think about investing in a humidifier.
It's not so much the wood as how you take care of the wood.
