O btw, shapes almost have nothing to do with the SOUND of the guitar( although looks are a large part of the electric guitar). It's the wood of the guitar and the combination of the pickups: whether it's basewood, used in strats and teles and maybe some jacksons, which by the way I have a strat and a jackson dk2m. Les Pauls are made of Amazonian mahogany and are typically very heavy but provides a warm sound. Basswood tends to bring a very short sustain but with the right pickups the sustain can be extended with a sharp note tone. But don't just look into the brand names of Fender and Gibson( and their affiliates), check out other brands, like PRS, Taylor, Rickenbacker, and Gretsch. All make fantastic guitars and if I could afford one, I would get one.
