Default Left hander playing right handed guitar.?

I'm a solid lefty through and through, I play a lot of baseball, basketball, golf, and I do everything left handed, I even kick left footed. I write with my left hand I use my left hand when I eat and all of these things, but I started playing guitar about 5 months ago and I've been playing right handed. I've noticed though that my picking isn't very accurate or fast, and when I'm listening to music and driving, I like to do a lot of air guitar as I'm feeling the music (sounds stupid but singing guitar and drums while driving is a habit of mine) and whenever I air guitar I do it left handed. Has anybody got some advice on whether or not I should try switching? I'm also a huge fan of hendrix, and that alone is a big influence on me wondering whether to play left or continue right.

I'm left handed. I do everything left handed! like you I play basketball, baseball(I was a pitcher, 1st base, and outfield), eat, kick, and anything you can think of left handed. But 10 years ago when I was 12 I started playing the guitar, and the only guitar I had was a right handed guitar. I found that my picking was slow, and not very accurate, but I would do good with my left hand as far as guitar solos, and playing chords was naturally easy with my left hand on the fretboard. I tried playing left handed and picking was much easier, but playing the chords with my right hand was difficult, so I decided I'd rather keep my guitar I had, and just work on my picking. Thats what I've done, and it has worked out great! I now play in a rock band, and I also play at my church, and I wouldnt want to play a left handed guitar. Good luck with your decision.

Whatever you're comfortable with mate.
I'm right handed, but I best play football with my left foot, so y'know, I'm also not 100 per cent certain handed. If it hurts or feels weired, then stop.
Do give it a go with your left though mate.
Hope I've helped,
Alex.
