a standard acoustic guitar has nothing inside the body except for the bridge setup. All of the sound coming from the instrument is the resonating sound and sound waves that come out of the hole under your strings. Different acoustic bodies have different sounds, i.e. different brand names.
An electric/acoustic has a pickup inside of the body, as well as an input for a cable so you can play through and amp or directly record the sound from the source. These also come with an equalizer, usually 3 band(bass, mid range, treble). Electric acoustics are popularized by Ovation, and are slightly more expensive depending on the quality of the electronics.
