Default Les Paul's... Old News?

I see that a lot of players now-a-days have started to head away from Les Pauls... Does that mean they are a thing of the past? Someone told me it's because they don't have a tremelo and 24 frets and because they weigh as much as a small house??

What does everyone think about this?

The les Paul they weigh about 9 pounds or so I think that's not much unless you're a very small person . Yet but the sound on a Les Paul is better than a strat in my opinion. Much more sustain and clearer sound. The frets play better than a strat they are slick and fast.

Yet we are talking apples and oranges here, some people love Fender Strat's
So to each their own I guess, I'd say play what makes you happy it's as simple as that, a matter of taste, I own a Les Paul custom Black Beauty. It's AWESOME !!

As far as a Tremblo well Eric Clapton doesn't use one.
