Sure, you can pick up a bunch of new indie bands albums... but what I'd personally recommend is going for something totally different to give you a perspective. I don't have anything against indie, and have very much enjoyed CocoRosie and BigBang recently but pick up Cream's Disraeli Gears or something classic like that, like Jimi Hendrix's Are You Experienced.
Or if you really wanna go indie, go back to the roots, pick up Tom Waits's Rain Dog or I don't know, a best of Leonard Cohen.
