This looks like a cool site . I'm mainly a guitar player who's been at it for .......dang,33 years? Crap I'm old.I've played a lot of different music from Bluegrass to Metal, back to grass.I've spent too many years on the road living out of a bus and not seeing my family(Glad I'm home now). All my kids play and that's given us a lot of time spent together traveling and playing. I hope I can learn something from you guys on here and make a friend or two.

i have an idea on how you shouldn't start, dont get a teacher. they dont help at all. i taught myself to play guitar, and its much more fun and its way more worth it when you learn your first song. you will get it, it takes a lot of time and patience.

correct! it really takes time and effort...I guess I'm too lazy to take a step. Maybe if my guitar gets done bec. it was broken, promise I'll spend time to practice. Thanks!!

I don't agree with that at all. A good teacher will help build a solid foundation. I think when you're just starting out a teacher is a huge benefit. Now I didn't have the "web" when I was starting out and that would have made learning new things nice.

Another question. Why is there no Acoustic/Bluegrass/Folk type subforum?

Hello Cfmrtn66! Welcome to MuzicForums. If you dont mind, I will call you 66 since it is easier to type.

I hope you enjoy it here! We strive to keep this a friendly and family oriented community. Age isn't a problem here, cough, i am old too!

I am so glad you are a musician! Maybe you can share some of your work with our readers

I agree, we do need a folk subforum, possibly an addition to the country forum. I will see what I can come up with.

Magic
