Hey y'all
|
|
I'm Alfred.
I'm a fan of punk rock and most of its subgenres.
Out of the subgenres, I like pop punk, post-hardcore, and metalcore the most.
I'm open to all kinds of music though.
My favorite bands include (in no order):
The Clash
Lagwagon
At The Drive-In
Underoath
MxPx
Opeth
16 Horsepower
Asian Dub Foundation
Saetia
Alexisonfire
Cancer Bats
The Mars Volta
Maylene & The Sons Of Disaster
Pink Floyd
Screeching Weasel
Teenage Bottlerocket
Hot Water Music
Descendents
Millencolin
Billy Talent
Ramones
Bad Brains
and a whole lot more...
I'm a musical elitist a lot of the time, so you'll have to bear with me.

I saw the Clash live on their Combat Rock tour way back in the early 80's,,,seems like a lifetime ago now. I see that you know a lot about punk rock old and new, I don't know that much about modern punk I made the mistake of saying The Used were a punk band but I didn't know what genre they were from, there are so many nowadays it gets confusing for me anyway.

You're very lucky. Combat Rock has some great, great songs on it, and even seeing The Clash would be quite the experiance.
I agree, there ARE a lot of genres, some are very unneccessary, especially in the metal scene.

Yeah Joe Strummer with a blazing green mohawk simply an unforgettable experience. I agree with you about the metal scene, too much of a good thing, soft, medium, and hard would be enough for me.

Heya Alfred, I'm not much for punk, but a lot of the bands you said (PINK FLOYD!) I like too. I'm more of a metal-head myself.
Welcome, post around, just have fun.

Didn't even notice you said you liked Opeth. I'm a huge fan myself, you like any other Prog Metal? Dream Theater maybe?
