You can use any guitar for blues ....the guitar helps but the feeling and music is in you. If you have to choose among the two, take the dot marker 335 type by Epiphone.
You may want to check out ebay too for used guitars.

There is nothing wrong whatever guitar you're using in playing blues. The importance is how you play it not what you play with.

Do you really need a fancy guitar if you got the music in your soul? I think people spend too much time trying to get the latest rig and not enough time practicing there music and learning there art.

Simple the Dot is a wat too cheap guitar, ...but....The Shearton 2, I owned one they used to cost 1250.00 new 7 years ago.Prices have come way down since then. But they are the same guitar. I used it to record my first CD that ws aired on radio years back.
The Sheraton 2,has a very fast neck, slick and fast like a gibson, has good sustain, you can get a jazz sound perfect or go rock.
The 3 way switch never messed up.
It fit's in your arms perfect for a simi-hollowbody.
And re-sale I sold mine used for 750.00
So they mantain good value.
But If I were you, I'd go with the Les Paul Custom and put 11's chrome flat wounds strings on it.The tone is very close to a gibson if you use the flat wound strings.
