Default URGENT - How to undub a movie or remove a voice from it?

Hey there guys, I'm pretty new here, but I have a very important Question:

How do I undub a movie or remove voices from it? If you have any tips, please tell me. You would have my sincere appreciation and my help in your problems.

I know I once did it so only the music and sounds were present, but I forgot how...

Please, help

so you basically just want to the video with no sounds?

if you have any video editing software like adobe premiere pro you can import the video to the timeline and just delete the sound... but if you dont have anything like that - then i think windows movie maker does this, might be a case of just muting / turning down the volume on the video and exporting.

if thats what your trying to achieve?
hope this was of some help

Sorry, I probably wrote too little about the subject.

Well, there is this avi file. It's the movie "AMERICAN WEDDING", and I am trying to extract the "Stifler and Bear Dance Off" music, which is a medley of 5 popular songs.

I wanted to either compose the music myself (in which I failed), or, undub the movie so the music can be heard clearly.

Sorry. And thx!

PS: If there's any good person that could get the mix from the movie, I'd be like

right. well you could still try the way i said and just clip off and delete the audio/video up until that point in the movie. but you wont be able to remove the voices of the cast etc.

so basically if your trying to get the audio like that, you'd just have the audio as it is in the film, the music with talking/cheering or whatever over it, but if you want just the medley of music, unless there's a soundtrack cd available that has that track, the only way your likely to get it is to cut the seperate songs together.

So you are saying that it's impossible to remove the actors voices?
Is it because of the format?

yeah its impossible to fully remove the voices, it has nothing to do with the file format

same with trying to make a song 'instrumental' you can never really fully get rid of the voices.

so yeah your pretty much going to have to serarch and see if its on a soundtrack cd or hope someone else compiled the tracks and posted it online.

hope i've helped!
