Okay, I'm in love with all kinds of gadgets, computer stuff, stereos, television, you name it, if you plug it in then I'm interested in it. If you have any questions or comments or something cool to share about the amazing new products being made and marketed every day, then let's talk about it here.

Yeah Magic that was part of my plan, and it gives us a place for us to talk about all our favorite electronics and technological advances, nothing in our world moves as fast as the consumer electronic market. I'll do my first topic after dinner.

Recently I purchased a new DVD player made by Samsung, the model is DVD-P380, for less than $80.00. I bought it for the DivX compatability and the USB port on the front panel allows me to load my USB flash drive with MP3/WMA music files and play them on my stereo system, which is way better than any computer speaker system and a lot quieter as well. Anyway I use this cool feature to check the quality of the MP3 before I burn it to an archive disc for storage. This has worked out great, I can also load videos on the USB and watch them too, before deciding whether to make a permanent copy. A very useful device this little DVD player and it has one more really neat feature, I log into Samsung's home page, enter the model number of my player and then can download any new firmware that they have added free of charge. I burn a disc using Samsungs directions and load it into the DVD player and it updates the firmware of the player adding new improved codecs as they become available. I really think that is a good idea, to help extend the life of a player and make it upgradeable. Very inexpensive, well made and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a regular DivX/DVD player.

You were telling me once before about your DVD player when you first got it. You didn't explain the neat features to me though!
I wonder if it is too soon to write a letter to "Santa" and ask for a DVD player?

I'm sure "Santa" can slip into Best Buy and "Find" something suitable Magic, but I am quite impressed with this little Samsung player, it is well made, inexpensive and does everything I want very well, the USB feature is just a great little add-on and has made editing my treasure so much easier, I love it!

Tired of your Windows Media Player? Ready for a change? Don't want to use i-tunes? Then you should check out one of the slickest most versatile programs you can find anywhere,,,Foobar 2000,,,yeah that is it's name and the best part of all is it's completely free. I am amazed at how many features you can load into this program, especially if you are converting files etc., it can play any format once you fully load it with codecs, and I have been using it extensively for months now, and just upgraded to the newest version which is even better than before.
If you are interested then go here...foobar2000

I remember downloading foobar once because I heard such good things about it. But I gave up on it. I remember thinking it was ugly and I couldn't figure out how to customize it.

You are right Mascara, it isn't the flashiest looking player, but the version I just downloaded does have some features to brighten it up a little bit. However when it comes to playing/converting FLAC/WAV files it works great, it is a tool not just a player, and it does more than i-tunes or WMP. Every one of my FLAC to WAV conversions have been perfect and I use it to play my FLAC files before I make my permanent WAV copy.

What download site do you use. I'm so far behind on downloading music.
