I also hate csi and other shows like them. They are so depressing. who wants to watch a show about a girl being raped.
Or a guy being brainwashed then killed.
A song called vicarious by tool describes it perfectly.
Last but not least the man hater channel. Lifetime.
My sister watches all of these shows

I watched Dinatopia years ago and it had possibilities, but shoddy leadership at the top doomed it to a one shot mini-series.
CSI, we agree.
Never watched the Lifetime channel, not my thing.
There are some good shows on TV, but I agree with you they are becoming harder to find.

I wasn't saying dineatopia was good just using it as an example.
It's been to long to remember if i like it.
Show like lost, soap operas ect.
Tv sucks was just a general statement. I like a lot of the cartoons and sports if my team is playing. Some show like monk are good. House every once in a while. History channel is cool.
I probably watch that the most.
I'm just not a big fan of tv in general. I much rather watch a movie or do something productive.

I have a couple more less than stellar examples of television, not so much shows as an entire network. I don't think I'm the only one that noticed a drastic change in CNN over the last few years, they have fallen so far off the map as far as quality independent news gathering that they aren't even in the game anymore. Fox news/political talk shows might as well be a spokesperson for the administration, they are beyond pathetic and so biased that anyone with any capacity for independent thought would look elsewhere to find the real story. Something terrible happened to the news media in the US since Bush/Cheney instituted the ridiculous Homeland Security bureau, almost all the news is censored under the guise of keeping Americans safe,,,I don't know what's worse the censorship/manipulation of the news or the fact that some people actually think having less factual information is a good thing. Reminds me of the old saying, "Keep them in the dark knee dip in ****."
Our main channel CBC, is independent of the government and reports on anything and everything no matter how embarrassing it may be to the political party in charge. The BBC is the same, everyone in Britain pays a monthly/yearly fee to support the network and it too is beyond government control.(Both organizations would never divulge anything of a catastrophic nature to the safety of their nations, it's part of their license agreement.) There is a lesson here for my southern neighbors if they want to hear it, the more info you have about any subject is a good thing, being spoon fed by the politicians about what's happening is unacceptable. Walter Cronkite said a few years ago that he could not work under the rules that have been imposed on the news media in the US, it goes against every instinct I have about the importance/integrity of what we are supposed to provide for the citizens of our nation. Sums up how I feel too.(I do watch PBS if I want the best most honest coverage of American based news stories, at least they have been trying to keep the values of freedom of the press alive and well.)

It's me again, this time NBC is on my list, they are apparently pulling back from doing normal television shows and instead throwing a bunch of "Reality" shows in their line-up this coming season. If there ever was anything less "Real" than the scourge of intelligent television, "Reality Shows", then I have yet to see it. I can't believe people actually watch these programs with any belief that they are real in any way. The only other formula based programs with less redeeming qualities I will not mention, I keep hoping someone else stumbles across them and does a post about the subject.

I stumbled across another winner of a show the other day while channel surfing. "Paris Hilton's new best friend." I honestly am dumbfounded by the attention this bleep gets, she isn't that attractive, she is dumb as a post, she will put out for the first guy that stops by,,,why would anyone want to watch her manufactured garbage? I certainly hope none of our members waste any of their precious time viewing this...mockery of a show...it can almost compete with the worst show in the history of TV, but I'm saving that one for my last post in this thread.

I very much dislike soap operas. The reason being is i find them to be very repetitive, and i get annoyed when i see people trying to act like what they see, aka 8yr old sister.
Simpson's should just end already. Never been a fan, a personal thing. And the amount of time its been running i say make room for a new show.
Survivor, see above.

Not so long ago, we were inundated with Hospital/Doctor shows;
now, we've got all the Lawyer/Court shows;
plus, who could overlook the Psychic/Unexplained Phenomenon/X-Files shows;
along with all of the (supposed) News shows;
and the Talk shows, the worst of which, imho, was Geraldo, followed closely by Jerry Springer.
i still enjoy the Disney channel ~ sorry, but i like happy endings, with some major sorrows along the way. What can i say? It reminds me of Real Life!
i don't really "get" the Ultimate Fighting shows ~ they're so hands-down violent, and i don't understand where that kind of darkness could come from ~ to be able to go after someone you don't really know/aren't in danger from/don't particularly hate/whatever, and try to flat out, well, kill them... That sorta freaks me out
i like Animal Planet, FX, all the Disney channels, Fox, TBS, Sci-Fi, Comedy, History, Do-It-Yourself ~ WHEN i watch tv, which is not much.
TV turned me off when they started not giving a care about "The Customer," as it were, by just showing the shows at their convenience, getting them out of order, rescheduling them with no notice, pre-empting them at a whim, cancelling them with no explanatory ending, so on and so forth
Now, the only way to watch TV, imho, is online/DVD. Go for Full Episodes; however, most of the free sites start missing episodes towards the end of the series, as an encouragement for you to buy the DVD, i expect.
Well, this appears to have turned into a novella
i guess this explains why i don't really watch tv much.

I never liked CSI because it's too much drama for me and everybody get raped or killed on the tv shows. I can't stand watch it. I remember the first time I watch it I was at the friend's house and he loves CSI. He tried to make me watch it but after for a while it bother me so I have to make a excuse that I don't like that show. Why anybody want to watch people killing other people. This is disgusting me!

Well, i don't watch tv much. But when i do its usually late at night when im not reading or drawing. I usually watch adult swim or something on DVR. All the shows on adult swim are soo fricken hilarious. I'm sitting here trying to figure out a tv show that i hate O.o
eh if i had to choose one it would be that reality show The Secret about Marie? (sumthing like tht)
Its one of those shows were all these guys try to impress a girl, and the winner gets to go out with her.
But in this one the girl is a guy, and transecksual.
Yea i didn't like the ones were they were actually girls
but why the hell would they make a bunch of men try winning a date with what they think is a girl, but is actually a guy?
Its like "Hey come make out with this girl so we can make a tv show" 3 weks later "Marie is a guy"
what the @$%#?
