The first disco radio station was formed in New York.
Disco Groups:
Hues Corporation, George McCrae, Barry White, The Blackbyrds, Loves Unlimited Orchestra, Gloria Gaynor, The Jackson 5, KC and the Sunshine Band, Bee Gee's, Donna Summer, Van McCoy, Patty Labelle, Chic, Silver Convention, Boney M, Earth Wind and Fire, and Parliament.
There are way too many to list
Even the 5th of Beethoven was disco-ized.
Disco boomed for about 6 years then died down, only to open the doors to Pop and hip hop dance music.
Disco era made it very popular for DJ's to make remixes.
Disco music was clearly not a TYPE of music but a style of music, aimed solely at people who went to clubs and wanted to dance. Disco music extended the popular 3 minute songs into 5 minute versions and added a new beat to the mix with what was known as a "4 on the floor" beat or quaver beat. Disco rarely used a lead guitar, the music was more focused on reverberating vocals and background music.
man, Earth Wind and Fire sure do bring some memories back. i used to listen to when i had some emotional sigmas that i was trying to bypass. I could listen to them always and whenever i want and feel good about myself. Always brings memories of love and hate when i listen to Earth Wind and Fire. I love them a lot.
To start off a timeline for this year, I want to report one of the most critical events of this time, President Ford declares an official end to the Vietnam War. The last of the troops came home to the USA April 30, 1975.
This war took a huge toll on lives: 3-4 million Vietnamese lost their lives, 1-2 million Loatians and Cambodians lost their lives, and 58, 159 US soldiers lost their lives.
I am not reporting this to start any political discussions, but I am reporting this event because it was FINALLY over!!
