Okay heres my little story of my favorite band, The Used
It al started in Orem, Utah. 801 baby. The bands founding members were Quinn Allman Japha Howard and Branden Steinkart(cant spell his last name sorry). They started in 1993 , but they were in need of a singer. They made a whole bunch of music without any vocals at all, then they started to let people auduition for the band. Sadly they were unlucky. But luckily(ironic lol) Quinn remebered Bert McCracken from his school. He knew Bert used to sing for other local bands. Bert agreed. Bert listned to alot of their music, and ejoyed it. He began writing the song Maybe Memories to one of the songs they already wrote. And thats how they madethier very first song. Maybe Memories. They suffereed through many hard times, drug addictions, nicotine and drinking. Bert met Gerard Way (The singer of the now very famous MyChemical Romance) Some time while they were struggling. The two bands became very close friends. Then in 2001 The Used got signed to reprise records. In 2002 the Used came out with their self titled album. The album was gold. The Used went to The wapred Tour and the Ozzfest. Bert then started to date Ozzy's daughter, Kelly Osbourne. And aprently her mother didn't like Bert to much. In 2003 they released maybe memories it wasn't a studio album it had demos that weren't in their first cd. titled from the first song they wrote. But them, Bert's ex-girl friend died (i forget her name) But tshe was pregnant with Bert's baby and died of drug overdose. Thus naming tyhier second studio album In Love and Death. Some say that the song 'Hard To Say' Was written because of Bert's Dog David Bowie was hit by a car and died shortly adter his ex-girlfriends death, but in reality it was obviously written because of her death. In 2005 Bert and Gerard Covered Queen's Under Pressure, realesing it as a single. Shortly after Gerard and Bert went serperate ways. No one but Bert and Gerard really know what went on but their are a few rumors why. One was that Gerard went sober and quit drinking and they relized they didn't really have much fun together when one was drunk and the other wasn't. Doesn't seem like the real reason. But we will never truely know. In 2006 The Used kicked Branden out of the band, for unknown reasons. But Branden went to another great band, Rancid. During all of these concerts and tours it was soon relized that Ber's voice wsas really on the fritz. Then he blew his voice out twice, getting surgery removing a large growth from his throat. He wasn't able to scream a lot anymore, and it changed his voice. 2007 they released Lies for the Liars. And got a new drummer Dan Whitesides. know they are currently in studio writing songs for their new album.

Oh and Bert looks ALOT like Kurt Kobain!.
