Hello PoisonLady, sorry I was busy doing stuff and missed you, I guess I would need a tour guide to find my way around Sweden...it's like that here as well, if you know where not to go then you would enjoy your visit.

There are still nice places to raise your family here too, but big cities wouldn't be my first choice either. A friend of mine moved out of the city to get his son away from a bad crowd, and I agree smaller cities or large towns would be my first choice if I was raising a family. Malmo, I have heard about that city, sounds like a nice place.

Vancouver was a nice place about 30 years ago, but it is so big now that I wouldn't want to live there myself. Crime seems to be a universal thing nowadays, and the sad part is we seem to worry more about the criminals rights than the tragedy inflicted on the victims of their crimes. Something will have to change in the next few years or all of us will lose faith in the justice system.

Sorry PoisonLady I didn't check in my chat box until now. Yes I live in western Canada near the city of Edmonton, Alberta. Our crime is too high but pales in comparison to the US, however if your friend is from Toronto or Vancouver then I do understand. I have lived in Europe for 4 years when my Dad was stationed there in the 60's but we only made it to Copenhagen, Sweden was so close but...hopefully someday I'll get another chance to visit.
