Russell Crowe Thread

I have always been a big fan of Russell Crowe but I am now officially labeling him as my favorite and in my opinion , the best actor of all time.
Up till now for me it was Anthony Hopkins but after watching A Beautiful Mind for the 4th time last night, it just amazes me what this guy is capable of.
Anytime I see him in a movie it is like the first time I am seeing him.

While his last few movies havent been up to par with previous, I feel it is the complex roles and writing just havent been available. his involvement with other interests such as his music and his Rugby team may be a contributing factor

If you have not seen these movies , DO IT

Crowe, who was in Toronto filming Cinderella Man with director Ron Howard, learned of a fire-bombing at a Jewish elementary school that took place in Montreal. Police said a note with anti-Semitic comments was found on the outside wall of the gutted library. He was so distraught that he offered (a reported $250,000 donation) to help rebuild the school's library. Montreal resident Shelley Paris says, "It was a huge morale boost for the school community. He said he was very upset about what had happened that a place of learning should be attacked that way. He wanted to make sure that our students knew that he was thinking about them and that he was very upset about the fire-bombing."

At the opening ceremony in characteristic Crowe style he dove into the pool fully clothed as soon as the venue was declared open. Nana Glen principal Laurie Renshall says, "The many things he does up here, people just don't know about. We've been trying to get a pool for 10 years."

I'm not sure I've seen a movie that he was in that wasn't good. I've seen the one's you mentioned, and all of these: Body of Lies, Proof Of Life, American Gangster, and State of Play.

The chemistry between Jennifer Connolly and Crowe in this movie was fantastic. So believable and you could just feel the fear, and the love and the pain through the whole movie

Another Aussie great and he is a real Aussie through and through, he has also continued Steve Irwin's work (not the croc stuff) towards conservation in Australia. We love our Russ.

I snuck into that movie and wanted my money back....after seeing it some years later, I appreciated it a little more.

I swear when I saw Gladiator I told my girlfriend at the time that Crowe would be great as Robin Hood and look what happened
