That is funny, very. But without a doubt offensive to both parties involved, and an inaccurate comparison. The Paralympics doesn't get viewed or sell by the millions & arguably has no effect on their industry - whereas (whether you like it or not) Music 'game show' graduates do.
Now that my friend, is some funny sh*t.
Meh....I still think it's funny....as offensive as it might be.
I also think it's funny when Rolling Stone called 'idols' the Karaoke Death Squad....as well as when their songs get referred to as Musical Wallpaper.
The only effect idols have on our industry IMO, is making it suck more than ever....see, this is what happened when the accountants, bankers, lawyers and networks got their fingers in our cookie jar.....they made it about money, and selling advertising....and the people who follow it, are the sheep.....need I remind you that one of the first things ever recorded by the original top 10 idols....was a Ford Commercial.

Hmm, it's a sad truth the effect such programs and products-of have on our music industry. It's suffocating, encourages monopolies, and rather than encouraging diversity - it destroys it. But one thing I hate more than conveyer belt pop, are those who are quick to slam music just because it's mainstream or because it's vocalist/writer was from a talent show. How can you ever be open to music if you've judged the thing before you've listened to it? Music is the art of sound, and you can't be biased against a sound. If it sounds ****, fair play. But otherwise - burn the pretentious ****ers.
