Please forgive the very vague details I'm going to give, but I would love it if somebody could tell me the name of this song and who sang it.
I believe the song would've been from the 90's, and I'm pretty sure it would've been in the top forty (so it isn't some really obscure song). I'm pretty sure it was a solo artist and the singer was possibly black (but not certain about this).
In the music video a woman in an apartment block is a victim of domestic violence, and the whole sort of feel of the song and video is about how her neighbour or neighbours could hear what was going on, but didn't want to get involved.
The video was trying to say you should forget about being scared or embarrassed to interfere coz if you don't end up doing something before it's too late somebody could end up dead.
And I'm pretty sure that at the end of it maybe the singer has decided they need to step in and help the woman but it's too late because I think her boyfriend is dead (she may have pushed him out of a window during a struggle). I think I remember seeing a body covered with a sheet and her being arrested or crying or something.
Again, I apologise for the very vague details, but hopefully it will jog somebody's memory![]()
