Default MicroKorg vs. Micron (synths)

I'm sure this has been posted in here, but I couldn't find it.

So what do you think is a better micro synth for the price, features, versatility, quality, etc.

Korg MicroKorg or the Alesis Micron? Please let me know what you think.

I would definitely go with the Korg...they are great quality sounds...big and beefy. Alesis just doesn't cut it to me...they haven't been in the synth biz long enough to be on of the big leaguers...I always found there gear kinda cheap built, cheap looking, and cheap sounding....Plus more techs know their Korg gear over Alesis.

The only Synth companies I use (or will use) is Moog, Korg, Roland, Oberhiem, I do like a lot of the vintage stuff...(Roland is my alltime fave)

Just bought the Micron the other day, Pads/patches are unreal. The latch function is extremely useful. I am extremely happy that I chose it over the Korg.

I plan on purchasing a Microkorg sometime over the summer. Has anyone played the XL yet?

I own a Microkorg and have never used a micron.

It's really easy to use, the patches are really good and I also think that the design looks pretty cool too. However, I dropped it once and it left quite a deep dent in the side and so the material it's buit out of isn't the strongest.

I would say though that as loads of bands are now using them, if you are in a band and want to use it, people might say that you are ripping off sounds if you get me.

I think for the money, you could probably look deeper into finding something better, or save up a bit more and wait for something better to pop up. 80's synths are cool so maybe you could find one of them?
