Making Beats
I record in pro tools. i have a roland x6 phantom which i make my beats with. i also use reason lite that came with the protools program.what is the best way to make beats using this stuff should i use my roland as a midi controller or should i record my samples and presets straight into protools?

I have 2 ways I normally do beats...
1), I use Fruity Loops and build a beat...then one by one solo each patch and export as a wave, so that in my audio program I have a separate track for each drum, for leveling and effects purposes
or
2) I just import drum shots into the audio program and build the beat myself.
Both ways work great.
