I have a Line6 Toneport UX2 in my studio and I LOVE it!!!!

Those mics are ok....I personally hate ALL mics that have an On/Off switch....that's what determines the toys from the pros IMO...(there are a few exceptions though)

These are low end mics....and only worth the price they are asking...the MSP is a wad of crap!

I just bought a M-Audio Fastrack Pro for my son 200.00 Canadian and a Behringer C-3 Mic recommended by Muzoid and all is great

You will get a ton of bad reviews no matter what your looking at and where your looking.
Talk to people you know if you can and for home recording, you dont need to spend a lot of money.

I knew you would love that mic Benny.....I used mine today, and I'm still blown away by the quality for the $89 I paid.

The Line6 Toneport UX2 was one I was looking at for awhile, but then I read a few reviews about them where they had stopped working after warranty expired, and that seemed a bit sketchy to me.
But I'll be sure to give it another go if you really think it's worth it!
Going to go look at the Behringer mic right now.

Well we havent done much as Christian has been working , Just installed Mpowered pro tools so its going to be a month before we figure out what the hell we are doing

Also, to the OP.... Watch Kijiji in your area, we picked up and SM58 and a stand for 60 bucks a while back. Its a great all around mic. Probably the most common mic period for live vocals

Yup...SM58 is the single overall most popular mic hands down.

I live in a fairly small city, browsing craigslist and kijiji have pretty much become a hobby of mine. Never really found a decent deal on there though, unfortunately.
Axe music has the c3 but it has "Dual-Diaphragm" in it's name. Is there a difference?

That just means it has 2 diaphragms...on on each side,

instead of one on the middle....Behringer makes a single version of it too....but for studio the dual will have more and better applications,,,,for live go with a single.

Almost everything you buy, you pay 10 bucks anytime during the first year and you get another year warranty, You can pay another 10 bucks and a get another year after that.
You never will have an issue there and most times if you take it back they give you a new one

So when I get the money ready, I think I will stick with the line 6, and invest in the behringer mic. Probably won't include a cable so I'll need to get one of those too.

And I forgot to mention again, my guitar pedals will work with the usb?
Or should I just sell them?

Yes the C3 comes without a cable....but it does have a nice hardshell case and quality clip.

And the Line6 has Phantom power thet the C3 need, so you're good to go.

Benny (and you, eventually) will notice the "Don't throw this out" logo on the mic clip....I thought that was quite comical

Oh yes your pedals will work fine...but the software with the UX2 (Gearbox)...is like having 12 pedals at your disposal...trust me you will love it...I love mine...

Ah, well I found cheaper prices on Axe music, and am already registered. Is it just for the stores or also online?
So that means if I printed off the pages of the items and brought them to the store they'd match the price?

If you are close to L&M I would definately give it a try. You could call them first.
The reason I deal with them is I feel better talking to real people and the service is impeccable. Son had a Zoom G2 and the switch went 2 weeks after the warranty was up. I hadnt paid for extended warranty but they still just grabbed me a new one off the shelf.
Its not like futureshop where they soak you for a bit of security.

Well I bought my guitar amp from Axe music and was really pleased with their service.
It actually came early, and came with a bunch of random freebies as well as a note from them.
Not to mention if I buy the mic and usb, it will be free shipping, and cheaper tax compared to where I live. *Shrug*
