I want to add this song to my play list because I like the melody, but can't figure out what the lyrics mean, and can't understand the emotion, to put it in my voice. Little help?
This is about suicide. Anthony Kiedis keeps threatening to "slit my throat, it's all I ever" and then stops short until the end of the song, where he finishes the phrase "...it's all I ever had." Meaning that his throat, or his singing voice, is all he has.
