...any others that cause viruses?? I' ve always used limewire to download music on my computer but, it always gives my computer viruses as I know alot of download sites do. Can anyone tell me about a good site for music that is free and isn't high risk?? Thanks!

I have limewire but all it does is slow down my computer i need something that 100% free thanks for the help!

I like Azerus. Very user friendly, but bittorrent (the method used for downloading using Azerus) can be confusing.

Shareaza is or was the best free (no spyware or ad-ware) p2p client but the trend is toward bittorrent.

I recently discovered Russian based websites such as mp3fiesta that provide legal (but ethically questionable) albums at approximately $1.00 per album downloaded.

I strongly recommend Amazon.com or cdBaby. You can get very resonable prices and these companies will actually pay their artists (for the band to continue writing and recording music they need your support and money).

Like the other posters here, I'd also recommend being very careful about contracting computer viruses and malware since you refer to p2p progs as "sites". I urge you to google how computer viruses are contracted and spread.

Also go to a popular p2p site like zeropaid to see if other posters here are lying to you. Most of the recommendations in this thread are bundled with malware or ad-ware (which may or may not bother you).

Free music downloads of copyrighted music is illegal if you live in a country other than Canada. Why don't you download your music legally from a place like amazon.com or iTunes or Rhapsody etc.

By the way, what the f?ck is with the thumbs down?

raphsody, and/or imesh? all the ones i have listed i have tried and either did not liked or it will not work anymore.
