I don't have many albums from the Pop field, but my favorite band from this genre is The Beach Boys, and even though Pet Sounds and Smile are considered their best records, my all time favorite is "Endless Summer" a compilation double album I got for Christmas in 1975. I know some people don't like them but when we were partying by the ocean they were just the perfect band, the girls all liked them and we just had a blast. I always travel back in time when I listen to this album...such great memories.
Good Vibrations from the BB's.
My favorite album, Endless Summer.

Another Pop band that I did like besides the Beach Boys,,,"Hall & Oates". I never bought any of their records except the "Greatest Hits" compilation on vinyl and on CD many years later. Nothing earthshaking about this band just fun songs great vocals and definitely easy listening music...and what's wrong with that once in a while?...
Maneater, my favorite song by this duo.
Hall & Oates Greatest Hits.

I'd have to add "Adult Education" to my favorite Hall & Oates songs as well Magic.
"Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?", is the song I remember most from Boy George/Culture Club. I think that they did have talent, but Boy George's image hindered them in my opinion. People back in the day spent as much time discussing his wardrobe and s.e.x.ual orientation as his music, me included. I seem to remember him having numerous drug issues as well, kind of a sad story considering the lighthearted approach to music Culture Club had.

Funny thing happened to me, my four year old is learning to blow a harmonica so his teacher said to show him some videos where they blow a harmonica and we were showing him Church of the Poison Mind on YouTube. He seems to like Culture Club.
I don't have any of Avril's albums, but I have to give her credit for writing most of her own material and she plays guitar, unlike many other "Pop" princesses. Plus the fact she is hot doesn't hurt a bit.
Time for another old standard. This time "America" is the band and "History" is the album. Basically the only America album I ever owned on vinyl and CD, they wrote simple catchy songs with great vocal harmonies and clean instrumentation, good music for just laying back and relaxing. I always feel a little nostalgic when I play this record.

I never liked to play vinyl, even back when it was state of the art. One slip and its scratched for life, tape decks cured all that. These days I always go with MP3 and MP4 because of the storage costs.
