Thread: Whitney Houston

In my opinion, there has never been a female pop singer with a more powerful voice. Whitney is "The Voice"! Her vocals are penetrating, resonating, and reaches hights no other singer can manage.

Her song "I will Always Love You" is one of my fave songs, ever Whitney has received more awards than any female in music history.

She has been clouded in controversy with her drug abuse and marriage problems to Bobby Brown, but she has rebounded well from that and is returning to her music career.

Yea, it is too bad her bad life decisions have hurt her, but I think her die hard fans will be glad to see her back.

I saw her as a host on a music show a couple weeks ago, and she not only looked great her voice was sharp, too. Although, she only sang one song, not a true way to judge how well she will hold up on a full set.

I used to like Whitney when she first started out before the disasters of her own making reduced her to a pale shadow of her former self. Like most Diva's today I can't stand the need to warble up and down the scales showing off her range, same as Mariah Carey, just sing the damn song and record an Opera album if you really want to show off your pipes .

It is nice that Whitney has recovered somewhat, but time will tell if it's a true return to form or just an apparition before she descends into the miasma of drug addiction again.

It's pretty close between her, Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera. All three of them have amazing voices. Christina, though, has hardly been involved in any kind of crazy headlines so she is the most level headed of the three.

I liked Whitney in the 80's. She had some really catchy tunes. I am thinking she is going to make a huge comeback any day now. She is starting to carry herself well again.

It is a very good message that she's back! And GOD she looks stunning! But I am very afraid her voice won't be the same as it was. Just like MJ. It's still the same voice, but it misses something. But we'll see...

ok so ... it seems that there is a lot of people that agree that Whitney had one of the best voices in history especially in recent history. it is my opinion that nobody has has a better voice since Whitney came on the scene. Mariah comes close but Whitney's voice just had a nicer tone. so my question is who do you think has the potential to become the next Whitney? (and I am talking about vocally and not about drugs and abusive relationships)
