Default ever wondered why u always get to see more pop music than other genres like

rock or alternative on MTV? i mean how many times do u see Rihanna or Gwen stefani on MTV or any other music channels?

do their managers or record company pay these channels to show them on tv?

MTV is a pop culture network. They're going to play the mainstream music mostly (that is, pop). Thats why people created the alternative to MTV, Fuse. Fuse is mostly rock, alternative, etc.

It's because they want a lot of people to watch their station, and more teens like rap and pop, rather than alternative music or rock.

yea i agree with u.plus if u go to mtv and type and band name like silverstein they do show up or they do but it's not what u were looking for. That's why I don't watch mtv or any thing like that(well besides fuel and haarac tv) cuz they play ****ty music.to answer your question i really don't know but i know record company do send videos to mtv and ppl will watch like 2 seconds of it then see if it catches their i think goes in a pile and them maybe some else watches it and some on until somebody says okay its a approve to be on mtv.if not they will throw it out but if its from a big company(like bmg, warrens brothers companies like that)they will tell somebody from that company that it isn't what they are looking or what they could do to make it better.if a big company really believes in a act they will pay big money to make that video cuz in they long that money will come back to them.
