Default I'm intereste in learning how to sing a variety of different music

(rock, pop, metal, etc.) How do I start? I'm REALLY, REALLY, REALLY,REALLY,REALLY determined to learn how to sing multiple types of music. I want to learn: Rock,Pop,Classical and Metal the most because they are my favorite kinds of music. Plus, I've always been looking for ways to train my vocals in versatility, breathing, tone, pitch, range determination etc. This is my dream and nothing will stop me! Thanks. Talk to me on here or on myspace: www.myspace.com/la_tortura13.

Its really simple. Start by taking a whole list of songs from one genre. Try 25 songs per genre. And sing each and everyone until you know the lyrics by heart. The ones that stick in you head are the genres you want to sing more often. When you know how to sing some of the songs by heart, start to sing them out loud, and listen for the breathing in the songs. Try to breathe with the artist as they sing. Another thing to get is a Pitch Reader. Find the pitch the artists are singing on, and if its a song you really want to do, get your vocals accustomed to the pitch of the song. With these tips and the basic vocal training (blowing the rasberry, the babies whine, humming, and note practice [better known as the Doh, Ray, Me excise]) you will be on your feet in no time.

Default My Experience

Well I don't want to sound cocky or anything, but I consider myself a pretty good singer. I'm in 3 different bands and plan on attending Berklee. One thing you really have to get down when singing is relative pitch. That's only one aspect of course. There's also intonation, breathing, inner acoustics, and etc. Another thing related to relative pitch is perfect pitch. I don't think perfect pitch is neccesary but it would definately make someone stand out as a musician (Jimi Hendrix had perfect pitch). Anyway look around online and master relative pitch.
Good Luck and never let the music stop
