Whenever I see rock music at a store or wherever it is always lumped together with pop. They are nothing alike.

i know its stupid... but rap gets their own genre and so does country.. i hate it gah :P

I've always wondered that, too! There are some pop rock bands like Fall Out Boy and stuff...

But I think it's funny when Marilyn Manson is grouped together with pop.

I agree...except for the U2 album named Pop...let's keep it in rock.

lmao, no matter what, pop is boring and generic music that sound the same no matter who is making it. At least rock and metal have different styles, instead of that repetative beat thing with a drum machine instead of a real drummer. it's basically the same (pardon the lame onomonapia) * unce * unce * unce * unce * its like techno that was made by a three year old. not only that, the majority of pop singers suck in reality when in concert, unlike rock and metal singers/screamers. Take Dave Grohl for example, sings awesome live, but then you have someone like justin timberlake, who sound like an idiot live.
