Laura Reed & Deep Pocket is a great band out of the Atlanta/Athens area that mixes funk, soul, and roots to create amazing, conscious music. The group will be releasing a new live album entitle Live at Treesound Studios on October 28th. I'd highly recommend picking the album up when it drops. The album will include the new single "Happy" which can be sampled on their myspace and website.

I saw Laura Reed sing with George Clinton among others last weekend at Loki Fest in North Carolina. AMAZING - this live album should be great. I have never seen anything less than a stellar live performance by these kids. I was on there website, too and the album actually includes a full length DVD for anyone who isn't lucky enough to catch these guys in concert.

One of the sickest soul bands I've ever seen!

i hear LRDP on the radio all the time, but i've never had a chance to see em live. and now, thanks to technology, i can watch their DVD at home with the family!
