Default This always makes me sad.....

You ever pull out one of your fav albums from like 10 years ago and remember everything from that time? Then you realize that the band has broken up and you'll never get a chance to see them live again and relive that part of your youth. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of bands still out there touring that you can see that might be just as good but it's nothing like pulling something out that reminds you of the summer after your senior year and wishing you could see them one last time. Ok, so I might be showing my age here a little but you get nostalgic for those older bands sometimes......

Here's a link to one of my favs that falls into this category... Feel free to add your own.

London Calling by The Clash for me alkaline_soul, I saw them live during the Combat Rock tour way back in the early 80's and even though I love this album(It's on my top 20 best albums ever recorded list), I do get nostalgic and miss those days of my youth. Sadly Topper Headon and more recently Joe Strummer have passed away before their time, hands down my favorite band from the punk/new wave 80's invasion.

I was lucky enough to have a cousin 6 years older than me so I got into punk at a young age, although I was too young to see anyone live. I didn't get to start going to shows till the 90's and by then all the greats were pretty much done. I am going to see the Misfits in December. lol With the one original member left!!! This kinda cracks me up actually.

I'm glad you are getting the chance to see one of your bands live even though they only have one member left, many of the older groups we grew up with are the same. Most of the original line-up is gone but someone keeps the name and the music playing. John Kaye from Steppenwolf is another example, he played for years and because he is the vocalist, it is Steppenwolf. Hope you enjoy your concert.

I was happy as a clam when Social D came into town couple months ago. One band I have never missed when they've rolled through my town. Takes me back to my rock-a-billie days.
