These guys are relatively new, but they generally don't sound like the big emo bands (Fall Out Boy, The Used, My Chemical Romance). None of them are really like the standard punk band either, I've tried to get a modern-sounding list.

im looking for something punk music along the lines of billy talent, my chemical romance, or rehab, the berally known band that kicks ass.

have you tried the old stuff? misfits, antiflag, dropkick murphys..etc..this band is punk but just a little different than the bands you mentioned...7 story farewell, they have a myspace. you should check em out

ok i was arguing with this girl and she tried to say that green day was punk.... yeah punk.... um... i dont think so.. she didnt seem to understand that they arnt punk! so i want you guys to help me out and prove me right.... tell me what you think of the green day argument and give me some punk bands... so she can hear what punk actually is... thanks =)

Green Day is more alt rock than anything, but their really old stuff (basket case, minority, etc.) are somewhat punkish. There is nothing punk about their new album. But REAL punk is The Ramones, The Offspring The Clash and The *** Pistols.
