I love some Bob Marley, but I hate how mainstream "overdone" he is now. Teenagers have turned a music god into a "trend".

I don't really agree with that statement.
I don't feel that he has become super commercial at all really. I mean, any artist who makes it big like BM did will become commercial to a certain extent.
Im not sure that he's "overdone" though

if there weren't so many bob-marley-pot-smoking hippies living nearby, i'd probably like bob marley's songs more. but the fact that BM is the ONLY music my neighbours listen to, i just get sick and tired of it.

probably of the few songs i like, it's "Three Little Birds"

but i must admit...i am quite partial to the gonja haha. But I don't listen to bob marley because of that.

Bob Marley is timeless and brilliant, how can anyone not love Bob Marley

yeh BM is a good artist. but have you ever got the feeling that you cant hear any more of the artist if their music in on the radio, in bar, in cafes, ALL THE TIME??

i'm just sick of hearing it, although it is good music.

Although I'm not a huge reggae fan I did like some of Bob Marley's songs, but like someone already mentioned the genre was very much a Jamaican invention and as a consequence the number of bands was never very large, and if you liked reggae you probably knew them all. Things may have changed somewhat nowadays but I've lost track of the current giants in the reggae field.
