Here's a tip: wikipedia is four mistakes/omissions per article to Brittanica's three. Seems reliable enough. Wikipedia, Britannica: A Toss-Up
I'd like to see you make an absurd amendment to any wikipedia article without it being fixed within five minutes (and perhaps you being IP banned within the hour). Don't hate on wikipedia, it's the people.

Whoa whoa whoa! I'm gone for 20 friggen hours and this happens? Look I'll let you have your opinions but as far as technical and instumental songwriting talent go, prog has some of the biggest names in music, I'm mean how more complex and catchy can you get than bands like King Crimson and Jethro Tull?

You can get like all of free and west-coast jazzes, hardcore/trance crossovers, grindcores/speedbass/jazzcores and industrial crossovers thereof, breakbeats, etc.

Ok guys! Keep this discussion low key. Ozy aka mahasamatman next ban will be with an IP lock. This forum will not tolerate anymore argumentative situations initiated by you.

Not exactly prog metal, but The Mars Volta is awesome.
But if you want a really great prog metal band, listen to Pain of Salvation.

They've just gotten heavier/more extreme with each album, what's not to like? I think Bedlam was their best since De-Loused.

No, look over the genres, that's blatantly untrue.

So is the site I linked, except it's full of nothing but experts on Prog, rather unlike Wikipedia.
