Lamb of god isnt death metal...

I used to think they were until someone on a forum told me to try some Carcass, Death, Nile, and Opeth. those are good bands that got me into death metal that you should check out.

at the moment ive really enjoyed Arkhon Infaustus' work. very unique blackened death metal.

I tried listening to Meshuggah's Obzen CD, but I can't get into the vocals I'm afraid. I like Opeth's album Damnation, but apparently it is out of character for them, and Watershed was okay, I simply skip over two tracks that just don't work for me, the rest of the album is good though. That is as far into Death Metal as I can go.

imo the band Acid Bath is a good introduction into heavier styles of metal.
give both of their albums a try.

death/black metal vocals take a while to get used to, dont give up just find a band you sorta like and give it time.

Opeth? Death Metal? Really?

I would say Behemoth, but I got chewed out because they are Black Metal, or something along those lines.

Lamb of God is definately not Death Metal, its just regular hardcore Metal.

My favorite Death/Black/Gothic Metal right now is Cradle of Filth, im in love with both the man and the female singers. truly an amazing combination for that band.
